Organic Coffee I heard? It’s The Best!

I’m going to clear up a bit about USDA certified organic items, in particular, organic coffee.

1) Organic products must not contain any synthetic agents.

2) Certified organic items may not contain genetically modified plants or animals.

3) To be labeled 100% organic the product may only contain organic ingredients (excluding water and salt).

4) The term “certified organic” can be a little tricky.  In this case only 95% of the components need to be certified organic, the remaining 5% must be on the USDA approved list and can’t be available in a non-organic form.

5) The USDA organic logo is allowed to be be displayed on any 100% organic or “Organic” item.

6) Food items labeled organic, such as organic coffee, can’t be treated with sewage sludge (yes modern crops are), or ionizing radiation.

What we’ve gone through is just a quick checklist of the USDA organic labeling guidelines.  Onto Organic Coffee.  Looking back at the previously mentioned definition of  “certified organic” we know that organic coffee must contain at least 95% organic beans.

Do you want to know why you might want to care if your coffee was grown organically?

1) Regardless of what you feel about standard farming practices, can you imagine consuming non-organic coffee treated with sewage sludge?

2) There’s the , I’m going to play mad scientist with your food, issue.  I don’t want my cup of Joe to have snow monkey genes mixed in just so the beans can have less acidity.

3) If you can’t handle caffeine then only drink organic cialis erectile buy Cytoxan online dysfunction decaffeinated coffee, or don’t drink coffee at all.  Conventional decaf. coffees are decaffeinated employing carcinogenic organic solvents such as methylene chloride and ethyl acetate.  Organic decaffeinated coffee is processed using hot water, and NO chemicals.  There is epidemiological evidence to suggest that imbibing conventional decaffeinated coffees is associated with an increased risk of rheumatoid arthritis.

4)  Chemicals are bad for the wonderful people that grow our coffee.   Many coffee farmers in developing countries can not read sufficiently, which may result in improper mixing of chemicals and lack of protective clothing.

The above are just a few reasons to only drink organic coffee.  Then there is the manufacturing of pesticides and herbicides.  The environmental destruction from this alone is reason enough to persuade anyone to buy organic coffee.

As a closing thought, farmers that cultivate their coffees organically are paying specieal attention to the natural needs of their crop, cialis no rx so the result is pampered coffee that tastes great!  Whether you think I’m just trying to promote my agenda, or promote your good health, please give organic coffee a taste and pass the word.
