Help for Arthritis Sufferers in Hot Tubs

April 2nd, 2010

If you've ever experienced the anguish of arthritis or have had to view someone you understand and love have it you will be pleased to know the Arthritis Foundation highly recommends the healing properties of hot tubs for its afflicted. People with arthritis have a very tough time moving and by being submerged in warm water, they're alleviated of some of their discomfort and are even in a position to get the unimaginable done; they're in a position to exercise with a small amount of irritation.

As always, with any new activity, if you are an arthritis sufferer and would like to start enjoying the spa tub, please first visit a physician before you start.

Arthritis Warning Signs

When your physician has said its fine for you to begin physical workouts in a hot spa tub, begin by allowing your body to loosen up for several minutes before starting any exercises. This is one of those miracle uses of the spa tub for people with arthritis because not just will they be able to get some exercising in, they'll be in a position to gain muscle by doing this.

It is extremely important to take things slowly when exercising in a hot spa tub for several reasons; one is because you can strain muscles if you're not the right way warmed up before commencing, two is the reason that it is possible to over exert yourself in a hot tub by doing too much or carrying it out for long to where you become lightheaded and dizzy. Arriving at that point will not help any physical workouts, and it can be detrimental to your over-all health. The third reason to take things slowly happens after you've exercised, keep in mind that now that your muscle groups have been stretched and worked, it is essential to keep them warm for several minutes before leaving the hot spa tub to allow your muscles to relax before hitting the cooler air.

Knee Arthritis

For the individual who endures arthritis, the mere realization they are able to move with less irritation in a spa tub or even a swimming pool is nothing shy of miraculous. Those with arthritis are in constant pain and a great amount of it has about the simple fact that there is a gravitational pull to the earth we continue to exist and that is greatly alleviated if they're submerged in water. Warm water is an extra benefit because it will in addition cause the blood vessels to dilate, which will admit more blood and oxygen to flow to muscles and skin not to mention the heart.

But it is an activity that if not followed and practiced correctly could bring about more problems than were there before. So if you're looking at getting some exercise in a hot spa tub where your arthritis will be lessened, don't forget to speak to your doctor first and follow the guidelines that have been presented as a way to take the best care of you. A little warm water physical workouts will go quite some distance on the way to better health.

Arthritis Treatment Options

What are some of the other some other options that may help with pain of arthritis?

Finding Arthritis Releif

Exercise:
Exercise is a key component to maintaining healthy joints .“Keep moving and you will stay mobile” is my motto. Maintaining a proper weight will be a huge benefit if suffer from a painful arthritic condition. This can be accomplished by engaging in exercise. The exercise will  also provide strengthening to muscles and ligaments that surround your joints, providing lubrication, and transporting essential nutrients while removing waste products to and from the cushioning cartilage between the bones.

I know It can be difficult to think about exercising when you are in so much pain, but studies prove time and time again that exercise is vital to your health.
When you have an arthritic condition it can limit your joint mobility at times, and this makes lifting even light weight dumbbells difficult. However, I have found through my own research what I regard as some of the best pieces of exercise equipment, and I personally utilize them on a daily basis they are inexpensive, light weight, highly effective, and are called resistance bands.

Resistance bands Are Also Known as;Tube Bands

These really light weight exercise tube bands are really amazing as they can offer most of the necessary exercises needed to maintain your joint health, and strength training: You can perform Range-of-motion Exercises, and Strengthening Exercises (no heavy dumbbells needed).

Diet :
A diet for arthritis can be tricky as there are different dietary needs for different types of arthritis.  Eating healthy fresh fruits and vegetables, drink plenty of water, low calorie juices, stay away from alcohol, and foods with a lot of preservatives. When drinking water makes sure that you filter it, as your city water supply is full of chorine and many people find that this can exacerbate arthritis pain.

Alernative Health Products

OK, go ahead and think I am a loon, but I’m telling you medical magnets work. I have been using them for years, and they have almost cured my migraines, and help relieve the inflammation in my joints. My knee used to swell up on a weekly basis, and would be so painful I would just sit in a chair all day with the heating pad watching TV. Now using the magnetic knee wrap, and magnetic bracelets it is the difference between night and day.  Let me tell you I am a huge skeptic, and I did bunch of research before shelling out for any “Quack Bracelet” as my hubby called them. Well, he’s quacking now, and had to eat crow when I bought him one for his birthday, and he was really surprised at the level of pain relief. He has been out golfing almost every day feeling virually pain free.

I am an arthritis sufferer too, and I am comforted by the fact that I am not alone, but it does not make the pain hurt any less. You are not alone either.  You should not stop living when you suffer from arthritis.

“Keep moving and you will stay mobile”

I hope you are inspired to keep moving, and enjoy your life. You can find more information and research about Magnetic Arthritis Relief .com

Arthritis Is The Number One Cause Of Physical Disability

June 21st, 2009

The term “Arthritis” refers to more than 100 different types of diseases which all cause pain, stiffness, and inflammation in the joints of affected people. All arthritis conditions involve some form of joint pain or the other. However, the seriousness of the joint pain, the duration of the joint pain and degree of the joint pain vary from one type of arthritis to another.

The two most prevalent types of arthritis include Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, in which joint cartilage is destroyed. In other cases of Osteoarthritis, the patient experiences bony outgrowth, also known as bone spurs and also loss of cartilage particles.

Osteoarthritis is usually found in people over the age of 55. That is why most people say it is an ‘aged disease’ of the joints. Hands, feet, spine, hips and knees of the afflicted are the most common places to find Osteoarthritis.

In rheumatoid arthritis, the patient experiences white blood cells in the synovial membrane dividing, growing and multiplying. They produce inflammation of the joint capsule and synovial membrane, a decrease in space in the synovial cavity, stiffness and joint pain. Arthritis treatments are imperative, otherwise cartilage destruction is an inevitable outcome.

Inflammatory Arthritis is another form of arthritis that inflicts it’s pain on people. Severe inflammation of the joints and tendons is common in this type of arthritis.

This is mostly characterized by the swelling and inflammation of the synovial membrane – thereby causing severe pain and stiffness in the joints of the victims. The joints of Inflammatory arthritis sufferers look red and are warm to the touch. Sufferers need relief from the constant pain of arthritis.

In most countries arthritis treatments are very important, especially so in the USA as arthritis is the #1 physical disability. There are an estimated total number of 43 million Americans – 16 percent of the population, suffering from one form of arthritis or the other.

Adults are not the only ones who need relief through arthritis treatments, children also require pain relief and treatment. Somewhere in the region of 290,000 children suffer from arthritis in the United States alone. Children, being very susceptible to pain, need arthritis relief and treatment more than ever before. Unlike adults who can endure joint pains to a great degree, children cannot and therefore need arthritis relief as soon as the problem starts.
